Videos of Jolene at 1 year....! Wow, how time flies by... I've got to do better at sending these to you more regularly so you can see her grow and change... She's full of laughs and smiles and pointing. Loves to share whatever she has as long as she gets it RIGHT back. Grabs at the nearest blanket to give it a cuddle. Enjoys turning the pages of books. When we lay her in her crib she puts her hands behind her head and wiggles her butt like she is wiggling right into the bed, getting oh so cozy. We miss you all so much.

crawling practice, as per grandma's instruction...
ok, so jolene hasn't had much tummy time in ages, instead she climbs all over anything she can and i was certain she was going to walk before crawl and i was ok with that. but grandma has prodded me to do otherwise.
our world has been crazy but we now have clean floors so she'll be spending more time on the floor now.
i'll post regular updates as she progresses. jolene, you are going to have to thank grandma for your integrated brain and your incredible math skills! :-)

Jolene and Sairah in the sun...

Just wanted to send along a few photos of Jolene's and my little winter holiday... We joined Amy, Erica, Nikki, and Jen (the Marquette crew) at a little beach house on Cayman Brac, in the Cayman Islands. The island was small (12 miles long by 2 miles wide) and simple, with only a smattering of restaurants and grocery stores. This left us no reason to feel the need to do much at all, and could guilt-free just sit in the sunshine, in the hammock, snorkle in the sea, have afternoon siestas, cook, and talk. It was lovely. And having a bunch of women around to cuddle, talk to, and help care for a baby sure makes it a lot easier! Among our adventures - Erica stepped on a sea urchin, Amy got circled and then chased by a Barracuda, and we had lizard friends (most notably, Curly and Iggy) and hermit crab friends of all sizes. We saw sunrises, sunsets, and a harvest moon. Jolene got her first tooth and bathed happily in the kitchen sink. It was a good and worthwhile trip. How I miss those girls!
More photos to come, I think it limits me to 5...
